This website was created due to a discussion that occurred while working out in my local gym or health club. While talking to a fellow health club member, a discussion of credit card debt and debit cards turned into an education for me. I was proud to say that I did not have any credit card debt and that I would never charge anything of huge amounts with credit unless it was for something like 0% interest for 12 months. I went on to say that I used my debit card or cash for almost anything. Not a bad thing, right? Well my friend went on to enlighten me on how he had just cashed in 11 total checks from Chase for 50 dollars each.
My Friend Now Has My Complete Attention
This got my attention. We are talking about $550 here. He went on to tell me that he uses his credit card to purchase almost everything and that he always pays the bill in full at the end of each month. He told me how the credit card companies charge a certain percentage to the retailers and in return they give the loyal credit card customer a percentage that would add up in redeemable points.
Advantages Of Chase Ink Credit Card
After all of this my buddy (we will call him Mark – mainly be cause that is his real name) told me that he used a Chase Ink Card. He also uses it to keep track of his kids that are in college. He gives them a certain amount a month and when they get to the limit for the month the card will not be chargeable. He told me it was a really good way to see how and what they are spending their money on and he could even view it online. He told me one of his kids called up one day and said the credit card was not working and wanted to know why. My friend said he looked on line and saw what they were using the card for and told his kid ” I guess you can’t eat pizza every night of the week. You simply ran over your limit” So parents looking for a way to keep track of your kids spending, this is a golden opportunity to monitor their spending habits.
Mark and I talked more and he suggested that I use one of the Chase cards. I told him that I already has a Chase Freedom Card. So I went home to do some really heavy investigative work (you know a Google search – I hope you see the humor in that). What I found seemed to line up with what my friend was saying so I went further by asking a few of my friends. One friend in particular that is very frugal with money told me that he uses credit cards for points as well.
It’s legit. Now what?
Being enlightened, I decided to start charging everything on my Chase Freedom Card. It wasn’t long before I saw my points going up and in about a month and a half I had enough points to cash out a $50 check. I called Chase up on their 800 number and the representative took my information and got the check ready for me. He also explained that I could do this online as well and he stepped me through the process over the phone. I also found out I could apply it to my monthly bill. I thought that was great but I really wanted to see my first check. I wanted to hold it in my hand and look at this new found way of making money. In about two to three days the mail arrived and I had my first check and it became a realization for me how I was actually throwing money away by trying not to use credit cards. Especially when I am such a believer in no credit card debt. It was a good feeling going to the bank and depositing that check for 50 bucks.
That is how the idea for this website came about. A simple conversation turned into a way to make a little extra cash. As stated on the Home Page of this site, if you have problems controlling your spending habits or paying off credit cards, then this concept is not for you. I would suggest something else for you, maybe a book by Dave Ramsey and hopefully you will get things under control.
